In those days Horse and carriage was the way to travel, so the hotel had its own stables, and was the first staging post traveling south from Aberdeen where you could stay the night and rest you horse. Cove itself started as a small fishing village and still has its own small harbour where local Crab & Lobsters are still landed today.
