The Falkirk Wheel is the world’s only rotating boatlift and a true engineering marvel that once seen, will never be forgotten. It took 22 months, £17.5 million and over 500 people to build. It carries up to 600 tonnes to a height of 35 metres on each rotation. It makes a uniquely dramatic setting for a business conference, a wedding or just about any other special event. At the point where the Forth & Clyde and Union canals met, Falkirk was once the busy centre of coast-to-coast navigation. After decades of neglect, The Wheel has brought new life to the system and once again Falkirk is at the centre of a bustling, vibrant canal culture. It’s an inspirational venue. The Falkirk Wheel is a unique and highly memorable venue for any business event. Thanks to the stunning waterside location - and of course the awe-inspiring feature of The Wheel itself - it's perfect for sales conferences, product launches, training and motivational events, as well as smaller, less formal meetings. Featuring a dramatic wall of glass offering impressive views, the visitor centre can accommodate 200 guests for a formal seated dinner, 250 for a buffet, or up to 300 for drinks and canapés. Outside, there is hard standing for a large marquee to take up to 1500 guests. The Wheel sits in magnificent grounds with great views of the nearby Ochil Hills, and to help combine business with pleasure, boat trips, golf, fishing and many other activities are available on site or close by.
