Situated near "Oil Well No.1" the museum was inaugurated on the 2nd June 1992 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the discovery of oil in Bahrain, the first country of the Middle East to do so, despite the pessimistic pronouncement of a leading geologist that he would "drink every drop of oil produced South of Basra". It houses some fascinating exhibits, including drilling equipment, documents, old photographs and a working model of an oil rig.

The Montgomerie championship course offers a truly unique blend of links and desert golf, taking advantage of Bahrain’s natural rough desert terrain and combining it with vast manmade lakes. The desert feel is retained through the use of sandy waste bunkers and the attractive indigenous vegetation and grasses used in the landscaping. Housed in a building spectacularly engraved with Arabic script, Beit al Quran (House of Quran) showcases a fascinating collection of Quranic manuscripts as well as a library of over 50,000 books written in Arabic, English, and French that center mostly on Islam. Manuscripts dating back to the 7th century as well as Qurans written on parchment, rice, peas, and grains are among the impressive collection. It is claimed to be the only institute in the world devoted to the Quran.
The building also houses a mosque, an auditorium, a madrasa (religious school), a museum, and hosts a variety of art exhibitions.

The grand Al Fateh Mosque is both Bahrain’s largest place of worship and among one of the largest mosques in the world. It was built under the patronage of the late Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa in 1987 and was named after Ahmed Al Fateh. Sheikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort, commonly known as Riffa Fort due to its location in Riffa, is an historic landmark and stands witness to one of the most important junctures in Bahrain’s history. Within its beautiful architecture lives the memory of the ruling family of Bahrain, the Al Khalifas. A series of programs organized by the Ministry of Culture have brought life back to the fort and not only present a chronological history of the Al Khalifa family but showcase the interior space designed by the French firm, La Meduse and the local engineering firm, PAD, which took its inspiration from the fort’s history and people.

Opened in February 2008, the Qala’at Al-Bahrain (Bahrain Fort) Site Museum seeks to maintain the ancient historic features of the site, as well as document the archaeological periods by preserving the artefacts discovered at the site.
The museum is located on the northern coast of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and is surrounded by a picturesque seascape and lush greenery that escaped urban encroachment.
The museum’s collection showcases five different historical periods which are arranged chronologically, each within its own separate gallery.

The Dilmun Burial Mounds are a number of necropolis areas on the main island of Bahrain dating back to the Dilmun, the Umm an-Nar Culture and later eras. Known since ancient times as an island with a very large number of burials, the (originally) quite a number of square kilometres of mounds were said to be one of the largest cemeteries in the ancient world. The cemeteries are concentrated in the north of the island, on the hard stony areas slightly above the arable farming soils – the south of the island is mainly sandy and desert-like.

The Tree of Life (Shajarat-al-Hayat) in Bahrain is an approximately 400-year-old, 9.75 m (32 ft) high Prosopis cineraria tree located 2 km (1.2 mi) from Jebel Dukhan and abundantly covered in green leaves.
The tree stands on a hill in the Arabian Desert surrounded by miles of sand. The average temperature in the region is 41 °C, often rising to 49 °C, and sandstorms are common.

Strategically located as a sea passage, Arad fort is a typical example of Omani military architecture at the end of the 15th and early 16th centuries. This fort was once the site of fierce battles and underwent different construction phases. All though it is not clear when it was constructed it has played a major role in the defense of Bahrain against marauders through the centuries. It was restored in the 1980s using only authentic material. It is nicely illuminated at night and hosts seasonal festivals throughout the year.

- Food and beverages are not permitted to be brought from outside into the Royal Beach Club facilities. -Alcohol may not be brought into the facilities at any time. -The management has the right to confiscate any alcohol brought into the hotel facilities from outside for consumption. A proper property check-in storage tag will be provided to the guest to ensure proper return of the confiscated alcohol to the guest. -Pets are not permitted within any part of The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain. -Sound equipment, such as radios and cassette players will not be allowed in the Royal Beach Club except with the use of headphones. -Games or activities that are disturbing or dangerous to others are not permitted. -Ball games, particularly soccer and volleyball are limited to designated areas of the main beach. -Mobile phones are not allowed under any circumstances in the hammam, the spa or the gymnasiums. Their use should also be restricted to a minimum in all other areas of The Royal Beach Club. -Complimentary towels are available for members and guests to us whilst at the Royal Beach Club. Members and guests are encouraged to use up to a maximum of two towels per person. -No bicycles, tricycles, scooters, skates, or roller blades (whether adults or children's) are permitted within the Royal Beach Club. -Water sports that are not part of the Royal Beach Club services are not permitted in the beach and marina area. -All vouchers are valid for the current year. These vouchers and coupons cannot be transferred, refunded or extended.
