Within the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park sits Penguin Island, with it’s crystal clear water and white sandy beaches, it is a pristine piece of paradise ready for you to explore. Perth Wildlife Encounters operates an hourly ferry service to Penguin Island between 9am to 3pm from the Mersey Point Jetty. They also operate a range of cruises around the marine park, if you’d like to explore further. The ferry is just a short five minute trip across to Penguin Island. When you arrive, spend as much time as you like exploring the nature trails, swimming, snorkelling, or just relaxing on the beach. If you want to have a spot of lunch, you can pack a picnic to enjoy on the island. Once you are done, head back to the jetty and hop on board the ferry. If you’re feeling more energetic and adventurous, you can kayak around the marine park, stopping for a break at Penguin Island. There are some friendly dolphins, penguins and sea lions who like to pop up and say hello from time to time. Keep an eye out while you’re visiting.
