Hotel Stadslogement De Smederij van Steenwijk (The Blacksmith Inn) is a sustainable Heritage Hotel with a touch of vintage chic. The hotel is situated in an old forge, dating back from 1836. So we would like to add a little touch of history to your stay. Our hotelrooms are home-away-from-home: authentic decorated, excellent beds, climate control, minibar, flatscreen tv, safebox, superb bathroom, free wifi internet. Breakfast is served in the authentic, fully preserved Forge (Est. 1836). The hotel is located in the centre of the fortified city, with several small restaurants and pubs. And what’s more: Steenwijk is the very heart of National Park Drents Friesche Woud and National Park Nationaal Park Weerribben/Wieden. In those wetlands and lakedistrict you’ll find the ancient, pittoresq village Giethoorn: known as the Venice of Holland.

Moreover, we really try to provide insight and discovery about the city you are visiting. Who doesn’t enjoy traveling, movies, music, games, and room escape challenges? We figured if we’d have fun building and testing these Tourist Scavenger Hunts, you would also enjoy doing them. This new way of discovering a city via a walking tour with various challenges is a great way to learn about its history and discover its layout. Simple And Fun Each Tourist Scavenger Hunt is around 40 steps, 2-3 hours in duration on a 3-4km circuit which brings you back to the start.
