Falaknuma Palace

Falaknuma Palace is one of the finest palaces in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. It belonged to Paigah Hyderabad State, and it was later owned by the Nizams. It is on a 32-acre, 19400 square meter area in Falaknuma, 5 km from Charminar. It was built by Nawab Vikar-ul-Umra, the then-prime minister of Hyderabad and the uncle and brother-in-law of H.H. The Nizam VI, Nawab Mir Mahboob Ali Khan Bahadur. Falak-numa means "Like the Sky" or "Mirror of the Sky" in Urdu.

The oldest and largest mosque in Hyderabad city. A stone-built mosque, which lies immediate southwest of Charminar, it took 77years to be built by 8000 workers. Remarkable for its architecture, intricate detailing, size (close to 10,000 people can offer prayers here at one time) and its royal splendor, this is one of the most beautiful mosques in Hyderabad. It is famous for its symmetry and the gateway bricks that are believed to be from Mecca.

Chowmahalla Palace

Built between 1857 and 1869 by the Nizams, it was the seat of Asaf Jahi dynasty, where the Nizam entertained his official guests and royal visitors. Initiated in 1750 by Nizam Salabat Jung and designed along the lines of the Shah's palace in Isfahan, this actually consists of a group of palaces each used as a Durbar Hall. Comprising of four palaces in Mughal and European styles, Chowmahalla Palace was where all ceremonial functions including the accession of the Nizams and receptionsof the Governor General were held.

Golconda Fort
