Casa De Aliaga
After the founding of Lima on January 18th, 1535, Captain Jerónimo de Aliaga y Ramírez received a colonial house in the elegant area near the house of Francisco Pizarro, the Spanish Conqueror, (today the Government Palace). Ever since then the Aliaga family and their descendants have lived in the house, thus making it the oldest dwelling in the Americas that has been home to the same family for 17 generations.
Rebuilt and reshaped after the earthquakes, and some changes in architectural trends, the mansion has served for almost five centuries to Lima’s history. Its artistic value emerges from the beauty of its interior space, the poetic and evocative of their environments and the original distribution of the rooms.
As you wander through the beautiful rooms of this old mansion one can enjoy both the Colonial and Republican history of the city of Lima.
Price: S/30 per person
Visiting Hours: Monday to Sunday – 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. (By reservation only).

The facade of the Cathedral of Lima is in the Renaissance style with Plateresque decorations. Its high towers with a slate spire are neoclassical with stylistic influences from the Escurialense school and from northern Europe. It has 3 doors, as in most cathedrals. The main one (the one in the center) is called the Main Door, the right side is called the Baptistery Door and the left side is called the Door of Forgiveness. There are also 2 side doors, one that opens onto Calle de Judíos (right side) and the other that opens onto Patio de los Naranjos (interior courtyard attached to the Cathedral). At the back of the temple (Calle de Santa Apolonia) 2 other façades open: that of Santa Apolonia and that of San Cristóbal.

The Government Palace (Spanish: Palacio de Gobierno), also known as the House of Pizarro, is the seat of the executive branch of the Peruvian Government, and the official residence of the President of Peru.[1] The palace is a stately government building, occupying the northern side of the Plaza Mayor in Peru's capital city, Lima. Set on the Rímac River, the palace occupies the site of a very large huaca ("revered object") that incorporated a shrine to Taulichusco, the last kuraka (indigenous governor) of Lima.
The Government Palace was originally built by Francisco Pizarro, governor of New Castile, in 1535. When the Viceroyalty of Peru was established in 1542, it became the viceroy's residence and seat of government. The most recent alterations to the building were completed in the 1930s, under the direction of President Oscar R. Benavides during his second term of office. The chief architects were Claude Antoine Sahut Laurent and Ricardo de Jaxa Malachowski.
A number of ceremonial guard units of the Peruvian Armed Forces are stationed at the Palace, and participate in the daily Changing of the Guard ceremony and other official duties.
