Located in Santo Domingo de Heredia, a small town about 10 minutes north of San José, Hotel Bougainvillea features 81 rooms, most with two full size beds, private bathroom, fan, direct dial phones, cable T.V., hair dryer, coffee maker and radio alarm desk clocks. Rooms with a balcony are provided with a view to our beautiful gardens or a view to the city of San José. Furthermore, our building is a smoke-free facility (we have a few smoking rooms available that are reserved upon request). With its 8 acres of carefully tended and landscaped tropical grounds, the Hotel Bougainvillea’s green oasis feature over 50 species of bromeliads, Costa Rican native trees, and numerous species of orchids, herb and cacti gardens; and naturally, the famed, radiant humming birds typical of the Central Valley of Costa Rica. Additionally, we offer a haven of protection for “Coffee Frogs” in an effort to save them from extinction.
