A fun theme idea can turn your ordinary corporate event to extraordinary and get people excited about attending it. All kinds of events can be made theme based, whether it is business meetings, brainstorming sessions, galas or team building workshops. Make sure to select a theme that will reflect the content and core messaging of your event and help clearly convey the information to the audience during presentations, conferences and training and development programs.

Venues, menu selections, messaging, music, graphics and entertainment are the elements that help reflect the chosen theme of an event. Here are eight creative outdoor corporate event theme ideas that you can use for your business events to make them memorable:

Corporate Event Theme Idea No. 1: Construction

If the event is about building constructive team relationships or about the setting up of a new location/office, then the best option would be the construction theme. For this theme, the venue can be decorated with props like construction signs, LEGO bricks, tools and safety cones. Presenters could wear hard hats, construction safety clothing and boots.
Event Venue Ideas: Choose an event venue overlooking a construction site. Preferably venues with dramatic architectural designs, such as the Federation Square in Melbourne.

Corporate Event Theme Idea No. 2: Wedding

A theme perfect for mergers. The women could all come dressed in white while the men could be attired in black tuxedos. Invitations can be designed to look like wedding cards. You could have a multi-tiered cake with the icing having the logos of the two merging companies on top.
Event Venue Ideas: Host the event at any wedding venue.

Corporate Event Theme Idea No. 3: Desert Survival

This theme will be ideal for workshops or sessions which involve designing strategies to thrive in the midst of turbulence or uncover hidden business opportunities.
Event Venue Ideas: You can explore the natural splendour of Australia’s desert region. However, ensure that your venue is equipped with working air-conditioners and has ample supply of fresh water.

Corporate Event Theme Idea No. 4: 1001 Arabian Nights

The Arabian Nights theme works great for galas and parties. You can get the Arabian Nights look at your venue using Persian carpets, low tables, tents, and divan seating or cushions.
Event Venue Ideas: This event can also be held in the desert. Or you could choose a Middle Eastern or Persian Restaurant as the venue.

Corporate Event Theme Idea No. 5: Hawaiian Luau

This theme will suit a laid-back event like a party as it intends to give the attendees the feeling that they are on a vacation. Decorate the invitations with palm trees, hula girls or surfers. Ask all attendees to wear Hawaiian-style, flower-printed clothes and flip-flops. Guests can be made to wear a flower garland each as they enter the venue. Don’t forget to include grilled pineapple chunks, seafood and fruit punch in your party menu.
Event Venue Ideas: A sea-facing venue, or a boat/river cruise ship will be ideal for this theme.

Corporate Event Theme Idea No. 6: Wilderness Survival

This theme is ideal when charting a new course or rolling out a new strategy.

Event Venue Ideas: Conservation areas, forests and wilderness retreats in Canada and around the world.

Corporate Event Theme Idea No. 7: Homecoming

Reunion parties cry out for a homecoming theme. This theme is ideal if your guest list includes former CEOs and employees of the company.

Event Venue Ideas: University venues or college venues are a great fit for homecoming.

Corporate Event Theme Idea No. 8: Luxury Cars

For kickoffs, sales events or to inspire employees to reach new targets, Formula One, Ferrari, or Lamborghini events are a perfect fit. Convey the theme with posters, videos and racing wear for presenters.

Event Venue Ideas: Treat your team to a real Formula One event. Some car dealerships have event spaces; or use venues like Ferrari World.

So these were some of the themes you can choose from for your next outdoor event.
