The Surrey Hotel is a charming Tudor-styled hotel situated in the picturesque Auckland suburb of Grey Lynn. Featuring 83 rooms that range from budget, Motel Studio style to Deluxe Rooms, One and Two Bedroom Apartments this property offers the grace and style of a traditional English hotel. Guests can relax and unwind with a good book or the company of the hotel cat in The Dorset Lounge, a nod to the stylish era of yesteryear with wooden beams overhead, deep leather chairs and beautiful antiques. Guests are welcome to use the gym, private spa and indoor heated swimming pool during their stay with us. We also offer complimentary parking and 15 minutes free Wi-Fi in the lobby area. The Surrey Pub offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, serving wholesome food, premium NZ wines and local beers. Guests can enjoy traditional English pub surroundings or soak up some sun on the outdoor deck. Our professionally trained team pride themselves on providing excellent service with a smile and are always on hand, 24 hours of the day to offer assistance. Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!
