Accredited by the Global Biorisk Council for establishing and maintaining controls for infectious agents, the Hot Springs Convention Center offers 360,000 square feet of cutting-edge meeting facility that can accommodate the needs of the most intimate gathering as well as conventions or trade shows that require seating for thousands. The Hot Springs Convention Center can host concerts and sporting events with 6,000 in attendance in Bank of the Ozarks Arena. The city takes its name from the natural thermal water that flows from 47 springs on the western slope of Hot Springs Mountain in the historic downtown district of the city. About a million gallons of 143-degree water flow from the springs each day. The Convention Center in the midst of one of America's treasures - a Victorian downtown district that is enclosed within Hot Springs National Park, the first area ever set aside (by President Andrew Jackson in 1832) for protection by the federal government. Quaint shops, thermal-water bathhouses and spas, a thriving fine arts community, fine dining, the charms of unspoiled nature - all are just outside the front doors of Hot Springs Convention Center. Add more than 50 family attractions, five crystal blue lakes, unspoiled mountains and forests and you've got the perfect spot for your meeting. This first-class, non-union facility is located in a city offering 4,000 hotel rooms and more than 200 restaurants. Hot Springs National Park was once known as Hot Springs Reservation. It was set aside in 1832 to protect the Park's primary resource, the hot springs. This type of Reservation was an early version of the National Park idea.Hot Springs was actually the first area in the United States to be set aside for its natural features. After Yellowstone was formed in 1872, Hot Springs was managed with it. In 1916 the National Park Service was formed and in 1921, Hot Springs Reservation changed its name to Hot Springs National Park, making it the 18th National Park in the Service. Hot Springs National Park is best known for the 47 hot springs that come out of the Hot Springs Mountain at an average 143° Fahrenheit. Hot Springs National Park is the only unit of the national park system that is mandated to give away its primary natural resource to the general public in an unending and unaltered state. Drinking the hot springs water is perfectly normal, even encouraged. The water is naturally potable (good to drink) when it arrives at the surface of Hot Springs Mountain. Thousands of visitors highly endorse the good quality of the hot springs water and fill bottles to take home. Unfortunately, we do not have any thermal water spring "in nature" where you can get into. Since our water is 143° (F) and is too hot to submerge your body in, there are two operating bathhouses on the Row where you can fully experience the water and drinking fountains have been built so people can enjoy the water that has given the park and the city its name.

Garvan Woodland Gardens is the botanical garden of the University of Arkansas. Nestled in the picturesque Ouachita Mountains of Southwest Arkansas, the Gardens are a wonderful gift to all people from local industrialist and philanthropist Verna Cook Garvan. Garvan Woodland Gardens is an example of The Natural State at its best: a canopy of pines reaching skyward providing protection for delicate flora and fauna, gentle lapping waves that unfold along the 4 ½ miles of wooded shoreline, and rocky inclines that remind us of the surrounding Ouachita Mountains. Garvan Woodland Gardens' mission is to preserve and enhance a unique part of the Ouachita environment; provide people with a place of learning, research, cultural enrichment, and serenity; develop and sustain gardens, landscapes, and structures of exceptional aesthetics, design, and construction; and partner with and serve communities of which the Gardens is a part. From the dynamic architectural structures to the majestic botanical landscapes, Garvan Woodland Gardens offers breathtaking sights (and fantastic photo opportunities) at every turn.
