Grand Central Terminal celebrated its 100 years in 2013. The beautiful Beaux-arts building is both a transportation hub and a destination in itself. Atop the station is Campbell Apartment. In the main concourse, the information booth and clock is the place to meet. The illustrated blue-green cathedral ceiling offers a different view of the nighttime sky, with constellations and other heavenly bodies-sometimes highlighted with a periodic zodiac laser show.There is an Apple Store on the west side of the concourse.Below the tracks are levels of shopping and dining-from clothiers to florists to souvenir shops. The United Nations celebrated their 60 Years Anniversary in 2012. The agency's first headquarters was actually Room 786 at the Waldorf Astoria; it was there that A. H. Feller, general counsel of the United Nations, checked in on Feb. 19, 1946, with orders to find first a temporary home in New York, then a permanent one. Every year, over 1 million visitors from around the world enter the Visitors Centre of the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Guided tours offer an exciting opportunity to discover United Nations Headquarters and include a behind-the-scenes view of the Organization at work, the General Assembly Hall, the Security Council Chamber and explore a variety of exhibits.
