The Florida Keys Marathon International Airport is a dynamic general aviation airport that is located gulfside in the City of Marathon at US 1 Mile Marker (MM) 52, in Florida's Middle Keys. The airport services privately owned, corporate and charter aircraft.
We are located at the approach end of 25 at the east end of the field just off of the Alpha 5. Our NATA Safety 1st line crew will guide you safely on the ramp (131.45) while our courteous customer service staff can offer everything you need to make your stay a memorable one.
We have everything you'd expect from a first class FBO. Come on in, relax and kick up your feet in our lobby or Pilots Lounge. We offer high-speed Wi-Fi, a big screen TV, a kitchen/vending area and a weather briefing room.
The airport was constructed during World War II as an airstrip for bomber training. Today the facility boasts a public airport terminal with ample parking, car rental agencies, Greyhound bus pickup, airport taxi service, two full-service fixed base operators (FBO) and a U.S. Customs & Border Protection Airport User Fee Facility (slated to open late 2015).

The Turtle Hospital

The Turtle Hospital opened its doors 1986 with four main goals: 1) rehab injured sea turtles and return them to their natural habitat, 2) educate the public through outreach programs and visit local schools, 3) conduct and assist with research aiding to sea turtles (in conjunction with state universities), and 4) work toward environmental legislation making the beaches and water safe and clean for sea turtles.
The Turtle Hospital (Hidden Harbor Marine Environmental Project, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. The Hidden Harbor Motel provides the space and buildings needed to house and care for the sea turtles. The Turtle Hospital offers Guided Educational Experiences to the public daily 7 days a week. Sombero Beach

Sombrero Beach is a beautiful park and beach. In 2001 the City redeveloped Sombrero Beach to include total handicap accessibility. A lovely sandy beach on the Atlantic Ocean frames a shady park with picnic pavilions, volleyball courts, restrooms and showers.
Sombrero Beach is a turtle nesting beach. From April through October it is not unusual to have Loggerhead Turtles (primarily) coming on to the beach at night to lay their eggs. During active turtle nesting season the City limits human activities in the vicinity of active turtle nest establishments. Turtle nest areas typically represents less than 10% of the available beach area. The remainder of the beach is open for our visitors and residents to enjoy. The City regularly surveys the beach for new turtle nesting. If you are interested in assisting the City in preserving the turtle population as a turtle surveyor, please do not hesitate to contact the City. F.D.E.P. holds classes in February or March every year to be a state certified surveyor. The City then schedules all of the surveyors for their day to walk the beach. Walking the beach first thing in the morning looking for turtle nests is an awesome experience.
The hours are from 7:00 a.m. until dusk. To get there turn South on Sombrero Beach Road and drive to the end of the road. You are there!

Virtually replacing the need for a boat, cable systems are an overhead towing device used to pull riders (wakeboard, waterski, or kneeboard) across a body of water. Keys Cable has unique, 2-point cable systems that are independently operated. Unlike traditional cable systems that pull multiple riders around a lake in a square or circular motion, our systems pull one rider at a time between two points, in a continuous, back and forth motion.
The riding feel is very similar that behind a boat, but slightly easier because of upward lift that is incurred from a higher tow point. The cable systems are run by small, electric motors, using only about as much energy as a small refrigerator, making them very energy efficient and the greenest source of wakeboarding available.

He currently has more than 20 years in the world of music and art, where he has served as a cello master in countries like Cuba, Mexico and United States and has performed countless concerts with different symphonic orchestras, string orchestras and small formats such as duo, trios and quartets ranging from classical music, pop, jazz, rock, r&b, latin, etc. As The Cello Guy has shared his talent at many weddings, corporate events and awards, delighting the public with his interpretations, talent and presentation since 2021.
