Sua infraestrutura o transformou em referência no calendário de grandes espetáculos culturais no país. Seu projeto arquitetônico, inspirado no Teatro Grego Epidauro, do século IV a.C., é conhecido por oferecer aos visão e audição perfeitas em qualquer lugar da plateia.
