One of the major Norwegian rail lines, the Dovrebanen runs from Hamar to the north through Lillehammer on its way up the Gudbrandsdal, to terminate in Trondheim. The E6 highway passes through Lillehammer.
Lillehammer is a town and municipality in the county of Oppland, Norway, globally known for hosting the 1994 Winter Olympics. Lillehammer does not have an airport, but Norway´s main international airport, Oslo Airport Gardermoen, is located only 145 km (90 miles) from Lillehammer.
