Bistrot de Venise is located in Venezia region of Italy. Bistrot de Venise first opened in 1993 and has since become a hangout and meeting place where the figurative arts, poetry and culture combine, simply, with Food and Wine. The venue can cater for business dinner, wedding anniversary, celebration and other special occasions of the locals and visitors to the region. > CUISINE Historical Venetian Cuisine with reinterpretations of recipes by Cuoco Anonimo Veneziano, Bartolomeo Scappi and others (14-18 centuries). A gastronomic journey back in time, to the ancient tastes and aromas of Venice, sweet and sour... rare spices... rice... baccalà (dried salted cod). Modern Venetian Cuisine: fish and shellfish from the sea and lagoon with a reinterpretation of traditional festive dishes. > WINE On the trail of long lost wines! ...Rare Venetian wines... including the Malvasia, Rebula, Marzemin, Turchetta, Bianchetta, Rabosi and Oseleta varieties... as well as the great classic wines of the North East! Over 60 wines by the glass with more than 200 highly select Italian and French labels. The History of Food and Wine in Venice. Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
