Cvent appoints top B2B marketer as its European marketing director

LONDON, UK – June 25, 2014 - Cvent, Inc., provider of a leading cloud-based event management platform, today announced the appointment of senior business-to-business marketing executive David Chalmers as its first marketing director for Europe. David will be responsible for developing and implementing Cvent's European marketing strategy and building its brand and raising the company's profile in the conference, events and business travel sectors across Europe.

David brings more than 25 years of event management and marketing technology experience to Cvent. He has extensive experience in event management technology, marketing strategy and managing and delivering digital and traditional marketing campaigns on country, regional and global levels.

During a 14-year career at Cisco, David was responsible for event management and registration systems for all corporate events and built one of Cisco's first event registration management systems. He managed Cisco's digital marketing for Europe and built and executed an integrated communications program across the UK and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Previously, David developed and implemented sales and marketing strategy for Philips in both the UK and EMEA. Prior to joining Cvent, David served as the commercial and marketing director at event management software start-up, EventTouch BV.
