Opened in 2004, Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center is Austria’s largest capacity venue, offering 73,000m² of ultra-modern infrastructure. Providing the greatest degree of flexibility for corporate events, congresses, galas and trade fairs.

The barrier-free venue also guarantees unrivalled flexibility in terms of functionality, tailored specifically for customer requirements of almost any kind of event. A total of 55,000m² is available within four exhibition halls – two of them equipped with flexible partition walls – and a pillarless multifunctional hall.

In addition, the Congress Center offers 7,000m² flexible meeting space. The chameleon “Gustav” mascot named after the architect is an architectural manifestation of multifunctionality.

The venue is well equipped to serve large numbers of visitors with some of the best high-powered IT infrastructure in Europe. WiFi 6 will be implemented throughout the venue. Just imagine the extended possibilities this will offer during your event.

The central location ensures great accessibility via public transport, such as underground trains, inner city trains and with a direct bus link to the airport. Just around the corner is Europe’s largest business university as well as countless restaurants, hotels and the verdant Prater recreational park.

This allows visitors to actively travel to and from the venue for example per foot or bike in order to incorporate physical activity. In its role as a healthy venue, Messe Wien encourages visitors to live more healthily during events.

Green & healthy

Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center has earned several certificates and awards, above all for its environmental sustainability. Entitled to call itself a ‘Healthy Venue’, Messe Wien is presently one of just four healthy venues in Europe, and only the fifth in the world.

The ‘Green’ aspect considered for the construction phase of the venue has since been thoroughly integrated into every service provided – be it waste separation, energy efficiency, e-charging stations or catering.

BRAND NEW: All options open with 3D simulation

Empty congress and meeting facilities may have their own special charm, but few people would describe them as particularly inspiring. However, now, all actual and potential event organisers at the Messe Wien Congress Center can take advantage of an ultra-modern digital planning and visualisation tool.

This instrument enables the user to define and configure a wide range of technical and design-related options, including the precise determination of room dimensions, fixtures and fittings – to the exact requirements of the organiser. This gives customers a decisive head-start on the competition, and saves time by offering a realistic image of how the planned event could or should look ‘in detail’ and ‘on site’ at a very early stage.

Virtual Tours

This configuration tool is based on the software of an app developed by the Austrian company ViewAR. “Provision of this service in such high quality underlines our position as a leading Austrian multifunctional venue at the forefront of an international market”, states Martina Candillo, Director Congresses & Events at Messe Wien.

“The new planning software opens up several options, including determining the location and dimensions of floor space, the positioning of separating walls, and simulations using various seating patterns. This allows us to visualise options with our customers – and to take a virtual tour of the rooms we configure.”

Valuable decision-making aid

Put another way, all parameters can be defined and subjected to visual checks. The organiser is able to access rooms interactively, explore them from a range of angles, to add, arrange and exchange furniture and fixtures, and move them at will. Realistic 3D simulations of all surfaces, rooms, equipment options and furnishing arrangements in the Congress Center help immensely when ensuring all the right decisions are made.

The new Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center visualisation software assures optimum planning and reliable implementation throughout every phase of a project: “Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are all living through exceptional times. Nevertheless, it is vital for us to keep our eyes on the road ahead.”

The conceptualisation and planning of events like congresses, meetings, conferences and corporate events – for the time after COVID-19 – starts now. “Our new digital visualisation and spatial planning tool gives potential event planners the perfect opportunity to use the available time to run through a variety of room scenarios. After all, the current restrictions on travel mean the chances of checking out the venue on site are fairly limited”, explained Martina Candillo.
