The Rubens at the Palace is deceptive – behind its elegant, historic exterior in Victoria lies a collection of flexible meeting and private dining options that are ideal for events and celebrations. This 161-room, five-star hotel with its prestigious address opposite Buckingham Palace, has recently been refurbished to an exceptionally high standard. A regal redesign, in keeping with its royal neighbours, has added even more lustre, with original artwork, antiques, custom-made furniture and stunning interiors.

Let’s discover what sets The Rubens at the Palace apart from other meeting venues in London.

Extraordinary Amenities

The Rubens is renowned for its excellent restaurants and bars, including elegant dining in The English Grill under spectacular chandeliers, a Royal Afternoon Tea in The Palace Lounge overlooking the Royal Mews, and live music and innovative cocktail infusions in the New York Bar. The hotel has an exceptional Indian and African restaurant – The Curry Room, which was recently awarded an AA Rosette. The Leopard Bar offers over 200 varieties of whiskies, 30 Champagnes and freshly-made sushi against a backdrop of live Jazz. All bedrooms in the hotel are individually designed, with one-of-a-kind pieces that have been specifically chosen for each setting, and luxurious amenities, including plush bathrobes and slippers, 24-hour room service, flat screen TVs and individually controlled air conditioning. But it is the thoughtful touches that sets the hotel apart, from delicious turndown treats to personalised bar experiences for the guests and event attendees. As part of The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, service excellence and a passion for generous hospitality are at the heart of everything the hotel offers.

Memorable Experiences

The team at The Rubens at the Palace pride themselves on creating memorable moments for guests and event attendees. After a meeting or for an extra-special celebration, the hotel offers the art of sabrage, the ceremonial technique of opening a bottle of Champagne with a sabre. In the New York Bar, where the resident singer Sourya performs each evening, Head Bartender Silviu expertly mixes innovative cocktails, and hot and cold infusions, including the hot cocktail siphon – a fragrant mixture infused at your table using a unique brewing method. The hotels’ signature steak sandwich, with wagyu steak, panko breadcrumbs, butter and tonkatsu sauce, remains a popular choice for a post-meeting bite to eat. In the Leopard Bar, guests are invited to enjoy the personalised sushi and sashimi experience created by Chef Suren. It is an exceptional introduction to the finest Japanese cuisine, uniquely served on beautiful tiered stands, while the whisky pairing takes guests on a journey of three whiskies, accompanied by a platter of cheeses and chocolate truffles.

Perfect Event Spaces

The hotel features nine beautiful function rooms which can accommodate up to 160 people in comfortable elegance, with flexible options for small groups, private dining and large parties. The dining and bar venues can also be exclusively hired for private events – offer your event guests the authentic Indian and African flavours served in the Curry Room, fine dining in The English Grill, and an intimate atmosphere in The Leopard Bar or The New York Bar. Next door, bbar and restaurant also provides unique event spaces, with South-African-inspired cuisine and drinks. Each of the hotel venues offer a selection of seasonal, bespoke menus, carefully created by the talented Executive Chef Ben Kelliher.
