Cookies are small files placed on your computer or device by websites (the Cvent “Application”, as defined in our Global Privacy Policy) that you have visited.  They are used to support essential functions of the Application, to make the Application work more effectively, and may also provide information to Cvent and your application owner (i.e., your specific event host).

While Cvent does not use Application cookies to collect information for Cvent’s own marketing or advertising purposes, our customers (i.e., your event host, or the application owner) may add cookies or other similar technologies through its Cvent Application with which you interact for their own purposes.  For more detail on any additional cookies that may be used by your event host, see your event host’s cookie policy.

On this page, we list and describe all of the cookies and service providers that Cvent may set on your device according to the Cvent Application which you may be engaging with.  Therefore, not all listed cookies you see below are necessarily set on your device, and only the cookies listed in connection with the Application you interacted with are used.

Purpose.  Our Applications use cookies that serve the following purpose types:

  • Strictly necessary (essential). Strictly necessary cookies make our Applications work, they are essential for the Application to perform its basic functions.
  • Performance.  Also known as “statistics cookies”, and including analytics cookies, performance cookies collect information about how you use a website, like which pages you visited and which links you clicked on. None of this information can be used to identify you. Their purpose is to improve website functions. This includes cookies from third-party analytics services as long as the cookies are for the exclusive use of the owner of the website visited.
  • Functionality.  Also known as “preferences” cookies, these cookies allow a website to remember choices you have made in the past, like what language you prefer.  They are used to enhance the user experience of the website and are non-essential to their use, but without these cookies, certain functionality may become unavailable.
  • Marketing.  These cookies track your online activity to help advertisers deliver more relevant advertising or to limit how many times you see an ad. These cookies can share that information with other organizations or advertisers. These are persistent cookies and almost always of third-party provenance.
