A letter from CEO & Founder Reggie Aggarwal
July 23, 2021 - As a valued Cvent partner, I want to take a moment to personally share some exciting news with you. Today, we are proud to announce that Cvent is planning to go public. We expect to raise $801 million. This provides us with significant financial resources to increase investment in our products, deepen our functionality, expand our customer-facing teams, and strengthen our balance sheet – all to provide you with better solutions and service than ever before. We’re proud to have key investors like Zoom Video Communications, and some of the world’s largest mutual funds as part of this transaction.
Together, we’re witnessing the return of in-person meetings and events along with the digital transformation of our industry. We believe an investment at this scale indicates optimism in our collective future and highlights what all of us already believe: the enduring value of events and the power of human connection, whether in-person or virtual.
We plan to go public by merging with a special purpose acquisition company Dragoneer Growth Opportunities Corp. II (Nasdaq: DGNS). We anticipate closing in the fourth quarter, at which time we will trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “CVT.” For more information on this transaction, you can view our press release.
We remain deeply committed to delivering exceptional products, service, and support. For that reason, we selected Dragoneer. They share our long-term view and have a proven track record of investing in and supporting globally recognized technology brands such as Slack, Spotify, and Uber to name a few.
I want to personally thank you for the important role that you’ve played in getting us to this point. The last 18 months have been tough on all of us and unprecedented in so many ways. We are extremely grateful that you continue to partner with Cvent to market and manage your in-person, virtual, and hybrid events.
Thank you again for your continued support. We’re excited to forge the future of meetings and events together!
Cvent CEO & Founder
