The winter months are some of my favorites, and no, it isn’t because of the lovely weather. Holiday decorations, twinkle lights, and the general cheer that fills the air makes this time of year magical. Whether your event happens to take place around the holidays or you’re organizing a merry soiree, make sure to include some of these fun and festive ideas!
Decorations can bring home a theme. From fake snow to holiday-specific items, your attendees will appreciate the festive feel. If you want to kick your event up a notch, take the party outside and have an impromptu snowball fight! Don’t live in an area with snow? Really impress your guests by bringing in real or fake snow just for the event.
Have Seasonal Food and Drink
There’s nothing quite like the foods of the holiday season. From Thanksgiving turkey to spiral cut ham, there’s an endless parade of delicious treats. Why not indulge? A few classics are eggnog, hot cocoa, candy canes, and gingerbread cookies.
Get a Themed Photo Booth
Give your attendees something to ‘gram about with a themed photo booth. Include an array of fun props like Santa hats, New Year’s glasses, tinsel, and more. Make a fun backdrop by including fake snow, iconic holiday décor, and twinkle lights. The more outrageous and festive the better!
The holidays are about family. Keep that in mind when planning and, if possible, make your event a family affair. Allowing the whole family to attend may increase event attendance and will give you the opportunity to try out different kid-friendly activities.
Use this time to do some good. Make giving back a focus of your event by organizing a giving tree, a trip to a local soup kitchen, or collecting donations for a charity. No matter how you choose to give back, your attendees will appreciate the community outreach.
Take advantage of the season and embrace the festivities! It’s all about the theme and the best events are ones where everything ties together.
