You might be wondering, what is an umbrella event? An umbrella event is a group of events with a single overarching registration process. The only differences between your events are dates and locations, like an event that tours multiple cities or a monthly training.

Since your invitees will be going through one registration process for multiple events occurring throughout the course of a year, how can you keep them informed and engaged for each specific event within the umbrella event series?

Event Calendar

The Event Calendar allows you to display and link to registration for specific events and sessions. This calendar is available as a standalone website, but it can also be embedded on an external website. In an umbrella event, if you are creating each specific event as a session, you can display them individually on the calendar. The calendar would then show all of the upcoming events within that series. Take a look at this Cvent Community article to learn more about the Event Calendar.

Session Emails

Session emails allow you to send targeted emails to session-specific audiences. In an umbrella event, session emails can provide specific information for each event within the series. They can be used to confirm registration for the specific event, provide instructions and directions for each event’s venue, and to send a reminder days before each event occurs. Take a look at this Cvent Community article to learn more about Session Emails.

Premium Surveys

Our new Premium Surveys tool gives you the ability to create feedback surveys specific to each session. This survey could include feedback relating to the specific dates and locations of each event in the umbrella event series. These session surveys can be used in tandem with session emails by directing session participants to the survey for their event. Take a look at this Cvent Community article to learn more about Session Emails.
