Accessibility

Montgomery County (or “MoCo”) is easy to reach and convenient to explore! Whether it’s by air, rail, or car, finding transportation in Montgomery County is simple. By Air Montgomery County is equidistant from three major airports: Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI). By Rail Amtrak’s Rockville Station is adjacent to the Rockville Metro Station. The Metro is the region’s subway system and there are 13 Red Line stations that serve the county, all leading into Washington D.C. By Bus Vamoose Bus offers direct service from New York City to downtown Bethesda. Metro bus offers routes on every major thoroughfare in the D.C. area. By Car Major highways run throughout our county such as I-95, I-495, I-200, and I-70. By Ferry (Yes, we have a ferry!) White’s Ferry is the last ferry operating on the Potomac River. It connects Leesburg, Virginia to Montgomery County. By Bike Capital Bikeshare has stations in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia.

Montgomery County is comprised of bustling urban districts, serene suburbs and a 93,000 acre Agricultural Reserve. There’s always new development in the County. Here are 3 new must-see areas just outside of Washington, D.C.!
  1. PIKE AND ROSE is a new mixed use development on Rockville Pike with shopping, dining, lodging, and entertainment! It will continue to grow over the next few years, but there are already some exciting things to see and do! Recent additions include a Nike Outlet and REI. Coming soon – a new Canopy by Hilton hotel, H&M, LL Bean and Pinstripes!
  2. CLARKSBURG PREMIUM OUTLETS is the first outlet center in Montgomery County! Be prepared to shop til you drop at your favorite stores like Armani Outlet, Coach, Nike Factory Store, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, Tory Burch, Under Armour, and more.
  3. ELLSWORTH PLACE is a six-story shopping mall located in downtown Silver Spring. If you’re lost, just look for the bright lights and jumbotrons outside of the mall! Anchor stores include TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Michael’s, and the region’s only Forever 21 Red. Plus, Dave and Buster’s recently occupied the top floor!
