But what really makes The Myrtle Beach Area stand out is the locals commitment to supporting the community and welcoming visitors.  The Visit Myrtle Beach team works with about a dozen “Local Experts” who are more than willing to speak, train or just come network with a group.  Our Experts range from Golf, History and Culture, Culinary, Entertainment, Nature and Outdoor activities.  This offers groups great team building opportunities as well as a chance to step outside the boardroom and open their minds to new experiences.

With today’s meeting groups constantly on the lookout for exciting and innovative ways to promote team building among participants. The Myrtle Beach area’s coastal setting and abundance of outdoor activities make the destination ideal for this.

With miles of public beaches, two oceanfront state parks, hiking and biking trails, and the ocean, rivers and marshlands, the opportunities are endless. Embark on nature expeditions, camping trips, kayak excursions and more. Ann Wilson, Interpretive Ranger at the Myrtle Beach State Park, is able to educate and introduce visitors to the coastal environment thru a myriad of classes.

Additionally, The International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach at Horry Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) opened a beautiful, new space in August 2016. This new location includes, among other things an amphitheater with staging area for guest chefs to teach, offering cooking classes to the general public including groups.
