The King of Prussia area in southeastern Pennsylvania continues to grow by expanding its dining options. It offers suburban Philadelphia customers an impressive lineup of city-style, top-tier restaurant brands, all within walking distance of one another at the King of Prussia Town Center.
With the openings of Founding Farmers, MidiCi, and District Taco in fall 2017, Montgomery County’s collection of more than 1,600 restaurants continues to include favorite big names, as well as small-town diners and cafes.
Founding Farmers
If you’ve been waiting for a seat at one of the hottest restaurants in the country, your table is ready! And it’s right here in Montgomery County. Founding Farmers recently opened its King of Prussia Town Center location.
The most-booked restaurant in the United States on OpenTable, Founding Farmers is majority-owned by 47,000 family farmers across the country.
“We’re putting real roots down here,” co-owner Dan Simons says. “We know our guests are coming for the message … the sentiment. We hope we meet your expectations and give you a restaurant you can be proud of.”
Serving weekday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as weekend buffet brunch, the restaurant focuses on cooking from scratch with fresh-baked bread, beef ground on site, fresh pressed juices, and churned butter, all as part of a wide range of both innovative menu creations and American cuisine.
The restaurant’s first Pennsylvania location also features another first, the Bake Café and Creamery, offering light fare, coffee, bread, doughnuts, pies, and house-churned ice cream for eat-in or takeout.
All the locations are part of the Certified Green Restaurant Association and use sustainable and energy-efficient equipment, incorporate recycled and refurbished materials in the building, and even design unique interiors with detailed original pieces of custom-made local art.
Founding Farmers began in 2005, when members of the North Dakota Farmers Union partnered with Simons and Mike Vucurevich to bring their crops directly to consumers. Besides the original Washington, D.C., location, the restaurant has sites in Maryland and the Virginia suburbs.
The King of Prussia location also provides an intimate, 30-seat private dining room.
MidiCi
Pizza lovers have been rejoicing since the California-based MidiCi, The Neapolitan Pizza Company, also opened its first Pennsylvania location in the King of Prussia Town Center. The restaurant features a signature indoor olive tree named Isabella.
The 19 stores in 13 states — with more to come in the area — serve traditional Neapolitan cuisine using fresh, natural ingredients, including house-made, non-GMO dough.
“We’re very excited,” says Dawn Fisher, a teacher and local co-owner with her husband, Phillip. “This is years in the making, so we’re thrilled. And King of Prussia was such an easy choice. It’s beautiful, and we love talking to the other restaurateurs. It’s all very cooperative with wonderful visitors.”
MidiCi — which means “you tell me” in Italian — lets guests select from traditional and signature menu items or create personalized pizzas in the open, central, bustling kitchen, called “the heart.”
Visitors can also enjoy gourmet appetizers, burrata, salads, and desserts. Established in 2015, the authentic Neapolitan, wood-fired pizza restaurant has a mission to bring friends together. In fact, their motto is: “People are the best thing that can happen to anyone.”

District Taco
What started as a food truck now has several brick-and-mortar restaurants, with more to come. District Taco’s first Pennsylvania location is located right here in Montgomery County at the King of Prussia Town Center.
CEO and co-founder Osiris Hoil and a couple of friends began by simply enjoying homemade chips, salsa, and guacamole together in 2009. The taco stands also turned into restaurants in Virginia and Maryland and are considered a leading fast-casual Mexican spot in the D.C. metro area.
With fresh, simple, and healthy Yucatan-style recipes inspired by Hoil’s upbringing in Mexico, District Taco serves breakfast all day, as well as lunch and dinner options and seafood specials, all customizable for everyone’s favorite fork-free, fun, and messy meal!
