Spain is the third most visited country in the world and it is also the 4th MICE destination according to the ranking of the ICCA, which analyses the countries and cities that host the greatest number of international congresses. The leading Spanish congress cities are Barcelona and Madrid, but other cities also feature in the ICCA ranking, cities with great potential that are gradually attracting more and more international congresses. The hotel has 10 meeting rooms and a 230 m2 auditorium with capacity for up to 1,000 attendees.   Barceló Torre de Madrid This is the new five-star hotel that the Barceló Hotel Group has opened in Madrid, the chain’s second hotel in the city. It is located in one of the most emblematic buildings of the Spanish capital: The Tower of Madrid, which gives its name to the hotel. For a number of years, this building was the highest concrete building in the world and indeed it was the highest in Europe until 1967. The location is excellent, adjacent to the city’s main commercial, tourist and cultural centre. Its stunning design is inspired by the most avant-garde Madrid style which merges international trends with local influences from the most happening insiders. The hotel has 258 luxurious rooms and 8 meeting rooms that combine art with a unique interior design. The hotel offers high standards of quality and design from the hand of renowned designer Jaime Hayón, who has projected his own particular universe onto the hotel, endowing it with a unique and exclusive character.   Occidental Bilbao This is the Barceló Hotel Group’s second hotel in the city of Bilbao. It enjoys an excellent location, just a few minutes from the city centre and 10 km from the airport. The hotel features a spa, a sauna, an indoor heated pool and a fitness room covering more than 1,000 m2, equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The hotel has 200 rooms which, together with those of the Barceló Bilbao Nervión Hotel, add up to a total of 550 Barceló Hotel Group rooms in the city. Its 8 function rooms with over 800 m2 are perfect for meetings and events of all kinds.   Occidental Murcia Located in the centre of the city just a few meters from the Convention Centre, this Hotel has 156 rooms, 9 meeting rooms and a terrace that can accommodate up to 1,200 people, for all manner of events.
