Pasadena, California's growing reputation as a hospitality leader for domestic and international meetings and events saw a major transformation between 2017 and 2018, when several of the city’s hotels underwent multimillion-dollar renovations. That includes the Hyatt Place Pasadena, an all-new, 189-room property adjacent to the Pasadena Convention Center. The renovations and expansions offer travelers more guest rooms, larger meeting spaces, and improved amenities to enhance their overall experience.
“In 2018, Pasadena saw tremendous investment in our hospitality offerings, making it an exciting time for our community,” says Jeanne O’Grady Goldschmidt, executive director of the Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau. “With over 2,600 rooms, new meeting spaces, and renovated hotels, Pasadena can accommodate a variety of conferences, meetings, and events.”
Among the recent changes: the Sheraton Pasadena's $20 million renovation of its guest rooms, lobby, and meeting spaces; a $25 million renovation of the guest rooms, lobby, bar, and meeting spaces at Hilton Pasadena; an $11 million guest room beautification at Westin Pasadena; and construction of a rooftop pool, meeting space, fitness center, and 30 new rooms at the Hotel Constance Pasadena.
Most recently, Hyatt Place Pasadena, the first Hyatt-branded hotel in the city, opened Dec. 20, 2018, in time for the 130th Rose Parade and 105th Rose Bowl Game. The new 189-room hotel, which is located across from the Pasadena Convention Center, features the Hyatt Place brand’s intuitive design, casual atmosphere, and enhanced food and beverage. The hotel is led by Ensemble Real Estate Solutions & Investments and operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts.
Located 10 miles from downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena offers an enticing combination of modern sophistication and charm. Known for its historical landmarks, famous Rose Parade, and 22 blocks of shopping and entertainment in Old Pasadena, the pedestrian-friendly city has nearly 650 restaurants — more per capita than New York. It's also the birthplace of space exploration and award-winning scientists, including key institutions such as Caltech, NASA/JPL, The Planetary Society, Innovate Pasadena, and more. As an international melting pot of art and culture, Pasadena offers something for everyone to experience.
