Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, more than 60,000 event and hospitality industry professionals have gotten trained or certified through the Cvent Academy – helping them expand their skillsets, advance their careers, and set themselves apart.

Why? Well, for one, over the last 12 months, we’ve offered all training and certifications free of charge to anyone in the industry. It has been our small way to give back and help drive recovery. (And fun fact: ALL of our virtual and hybrid event related training and certifications will remain free through 2021).

But, more importantly, tens of thousands have taken advantage of this offer because a Cvent Certification gives you a competitive edge and positions your organization for success. It gives event professionals, marketers, and hospitality professionals an opportunity to showcase their knowledge and expertise. With these globally recognized certifications, industry pros are taking their professional development to the next level.

But, in order to make the most of your shiny new, Cvent Certification, it’s often about what you do with it afterward that really counts. Here’s how to get the most out of your accomplishment!

1. Update Your LinkedIn Description

Update your LinkedIn description to include your Cvent Certification – companies are looking for industry experts who have the accolades and expertise to lead their organizations to success. By adding your certification into your LinkedIn description, companies can tell at a glance that you're an expert in your field and that you’ve gone the extra mile to get certified.

How to change your description: Go to your profile, then edit your intro.

2. Add it to your “accomplishments” section on LinkedIn

Companies are looking for industry experts who stand out – and by making sure all your accolades and credentials are listed, you’ll be setting yourself up for success!

How to add accomplishments

  1. Go to your profile on LinkedIn
  2. Click on add profile section (if you’ve never added a certification or award before)
  3. Choose Honors and Awards
  4. Fill out your certification details
  5. Click Save

3. If you’re looking for a job…

Many jobs list requirements in the job description, which include certifications and other role-related skills.

How to find organizations that are looking for individuals who are Cvent experts to join their team

  1. Search for “cvent” or “cvent certified” in the search bar on LinkedIn
  2. Click “jobs” at the top to find job openings
  3. Click “company” and then select all organizations that are not Cvent (unless you want to come work for us - we’re hiring too! J)
  4. Sort through the results! You’ll find job openings like the sample below from Fidelity.
