Introduction to Lemon Lane
Founded in 2020, Lemon Lane is an event agency with a mission to offer bespoke and innovative event experiences. Lucy Francis, one of the Directors of Lemon Lane, has over 20 years of experience in the event industry. Starting the company in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lucy and her team quickly pivoted to virtual events and dedicated themselves to mastering the evolving world of online event planning.
As a new business, Lemon Lane faced several hurdles when launching in 2020, and was focused on building client trust while operating as a small team in a rapidly changing landscape. Attracting clients during a time when in-person events were banned, Lemon Lane needed a reliable, scalable, and trusted platform to manage their events effectively – that's where Cvent comes in.
“We needed to have the tools of a much larger organisation, even though we were such a small business at the time,” Lucy shared. Many of their clients were already familiar with Cvent, and knowing they had the platform behind them provided reassurance.
The 'must-have' Cvent products for Lemon Lane
Lemon Lane offers what Lucy describes as a “shopping list of options” when evaluation their clients' needs, but there are some products that are non-negotiables.
“The must have solution from a Cvent perspective that we would always recommend is the event registration module. We do event registration for 99% of our clients and it's just reliable. It works. It's secure. We know it's going to get past any corporate’s data security requirements.” Lucy explains.
The impact on growth and client relationships
Since 2020, Lemon Lane has experienced impressive growth, growing from a 3-person team to a 15-person team with over £10 million in turnover across clients with virtual, hybrid and in-person events.
Lucy reflects, “Success for us is building on what we’ve already created—strong relationships with loyal clients. We’re not trying to be the biggest agency; we just want our clients to trust us so much that they’ll never go anywhere else for their events.”
Future growth plans
“We're always looking for how we can evolve the business where we need to be focusing our attention, what's going on within the industry, but also what do we feel, we want to do within the business.” Lucy explains the ambition for the agency, with diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility at the heart of their business ethos.
Lemon Lane will be looking to elevate their services with integrations, exploring how they can harness AI and implementing measures of success around sustainability.
