Cvent Gears Up to Host Elite Speakers and More Than 500 Attendees at 2013 Corporate Meetings Summit

Global leader in meetings and event management technology on track to quadruple attendance from last year

McLean, Va. – Cvent, a leading cloud-based enterprise event management platform, today announced additional updates to its 2nd annual Corporate Meetings Summit, an elite event for corporate meeting and travel executives worldwide. The three day, educational and networking event will take place from June 5-7 in Orlando, FL, at the Peabody Orlando.

"We're excited to have the opportunity to, yet again, gather some of the world's most elite corporate meeting and event planners," said Eric Eden, vice president of marketing of Cvent. "We have three times more attendees registered for the conference compared to last year. This increase in attendance is a testament to the success and efficacy of an event of this type that gives attendees the chance to focus on networking and sharing best practices with other planners."

Throughout the three-day event, attendees will also hear from leaders at some of the world’s most recognizable companies, including Craig Marciniak, senior business leader for corporate events at Visa; Issa Jouaneh, vice president and general manager at American Express and Amy Harris, vice president of strategic meetings management at SunTrust. These sessions will help attendees learn valuable tips and share best practices through interactive sessions.

Josh Linkner, a successful technology entrepreneur and the CEO and managing partner of Detroit Venture Partners, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s event and Joe Sharkey, a business travel columnist for The New York Times, will be presenting an engaging session called, “The Meetings Business and Hotels: A Cultural History of the Industry.”

In addition to the impressive roster of speakers, a number of prominent sponsors have signed on to participate at this year’s event. PSAV, a leading provider of audiovisual and event technology support to hotels, associations, producers and meetings planners worldwide, will be showcasing its latest event technology and hosting educational sessions and demos at the event’s “Innovation Pavilion.” Other sponsors of the Corporate Meetings Summit include the Peabody Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando and Visit Orlando.

The Corporate Meetings Summit is also the only event of its kind that will be offering CMP credits for every session at the event. If an attendee takes part in every session, they can earn 5.25 credit hours. Educational topics include event management best practices, the value of mobile apps at events, how to implement online surveys to achieve ROI and successful SMM strategies. Throughout each of the three days, intriguing open discussions and informative training workshops are also available. In addition, Cvent and PSAV will provide the ability to view key portions of the Corporate Meetings Summit via live webcast for those unable to attend the event.

On the last day of the event, winners of the 2013 Cvent Planner Awards will be announced during an awards breakfast. The first installment of this award program will honor Cvent users who exemplify success in various meeting and event planning functions. Award categories include, Best Event Website, Best Use of a Mobile App, Return on Event Savvy Sourcing and SMM Program of the Year.

Additionally, within the next few weeks Cvent will launch the event’s mobile app, developed by CrowdCompass, a division of the company that creates apps specifically for corporate events. Attendees who download the mobile app, will be able to create their own schedules, connect with other attendees, view conference materials and receive real-time updates.
