Cvent Joins Forces with DMAI as Elite Alliance Partner

Partnership Connects Meeting Planners and Destination Marketing Organizations to Facilitate Successful Meetings in Any Destination

McLean, Va. -– Cvent, the world's largest meeting and event management technology company, today announced it has joined Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) as one of the organization's Elite Alliance Partners. The central theme of this new collaboration is to provide valuable educational offerings to meeting professionals and to promote destination marketing organizations (DMOs) through the Cvent Supplier Network (CSN) as one of the best first points of contact to help find the ideal venue for any size meeting.

The Cvent Supplier Network is the industry's largest online marketplace, connecting meeting and event planners with more than 200,000 hotels and other venues globally. It also features profiles of more than 2,000 DMOs around the world. A key feature of the CSN is the Destination Guide, the ultimate meeting planning resource to provide crucial, meeting-specific information to event planning professionals for more than 1,000 destinations worldwide. Through this partnership, Cvent's Destination Guide now integrates DMAI's empowerMINT content, easily connecting meeting professionals to the complimentary expertise of sales and service personnel from DMOs around the world.

Additionally, in an effort to increase the visibility of DMOs on the Cvent platform, as well as build greater awareness of the services that these organizations have to offer planners, Cvent has added a new feature to the RFP process which encourages planners to add Cvent's destination partners every time they send an RFP to their destination. As part of this new feature, planners are provided with a detailed explanation of how DMOs can be instrumental in the sourcing process.

"At Cvent, we believe in letting meeting and event planners do business the way they want and we make every effort to ensure we provide all of the tools and resources for them to be as productive and efficient as possible," said Eric Eden, vice president of marketing, Cvent. "We support and promote the ability of planners to work directly with destination experts and our partnership with DMAI facilitates the connection between the two entities to execute a highly successful meeting in any destination."

"DMAI is always looking for ways to support the meetings community, to advocate for the DMO value proposition, and to connect meeting professionals directly to DMO destination experts," said Michael Gehrisch, president and CEO, DMAI. "We are extremely proud to partner on these efforts with Cvent, which has a proven track record of providing innovative solutions for the meetings industry."

Currently, more than 150 DMOs partner with Cvent to market their destination through the CSN platform and benefit from increased exposure within Cvent's high-traffic Destination Guide, giving their sales professionals greater visibility and greater opportunities to develop direct relationships with potential meeting partners throughout their search process.
