The global pandemic has had a significant impact on the MICE industry. It has initiated innovation and a need for new and evolved safety procedures in order to welcome the ‘new normal’ whilst still delivering a high-quality successful event.

Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel recently hosted its annual MICE Showcase 2020 and delivered a service for 400 guests. The event provided a glimpse of the hotel’s potential to host events at its 23 meeting and events spaces including one of the largest banquet spaces in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, The CLUB Fuji spread across 1,603 square metres.

The Showcase commenced with a welcome presentation that was live-streamed throughout each event space whereby guests were able to experience the AV Technologies executed for a hybrid event format.

Additionally, the 1,000 square metres of Gardens were opened for guests to experience an outdoor reception. Social distancing norms were followed whilst enjoying interactive beverage services along with food stations that ‘nourished the new normal’ implementing AeroGlove© Dispenser service required by guests prior to self-service ensuring a contactless and seamless process. The Gardens were illuminated with the creative styling from Event Services, Inc. who produced a fantastical evening experience, leaving a truly memorable impression.
