How can you create a seminar space that wows when every attendee is an event planner? CORT Events broke down barriers in seminar space design to answer this question. CORT Events assisted in the inspiration and execution of the Corporate Event Marketing Association (CEMA)’s annual conference, CEMA Summit 2018. The conference, held by an industry organization filled with more than 800 active senior-level event marketers and industry professionals, took place over three exciting days in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. To cater to the audience of event planners who have seen every imaginable version of a traditional seminar, CORT Events crafted three separate and distinct, stylized spaces for event attendees to enjoy, no matter their work style.

Connected and Casual

This space suited professionals who have their phone, laptop, and smartwatch keeping them on task and on time. They want to be comfortable and they need to charge their devices. Connected and Casual, situated at the very front of the seminar space, offered powered soft seating, including the Tech Tablet chair, as well as sofas and loveseats for relaxed connection and listening space. CORT Events catered to this audience with branded swivel tablets, charging stations and an up-close view so they could take the perfect photo for Instagram. Connected and Casual Seating

Styled and Structured

This section was full of classic notetakers who have their schedule on their phones. They stay connected through email all day, but still appreciate an old-fashioned notebook and pen to jot down notes of inspiration. Styled and Structured, situated in the middle of the room, offered more standard meeting space for those who like to work the old-fashioned way. CORT Events made them feel comfortable with beautiful wood accent tables to lean on and classic meeting chairs for their comfort. Styled and Structured Seating

Collaborative and Contemporary

These are the attendees who work at home, in a coffee shop, in a shared space, or on the road. They’re flexible and appreciate the freedom to work at their own pace on a long list of projects. Collaborative Contemporary, mimicking the feel of a coffee bar, offered a space where attendees could claim a seat, but share a large, powered table and collaborate for breakout sessions. CORT Events set them up for success by creating a studio feel in the back where shared tables allowed for effortless collaboration. Collaborative Contemporary Seating   Kimberly Gishler, CEO of CEMA said, “CORT has been a long-time partner with CEMA for our annual conference CEMA Summit. CORT understands its audiences and customizes each design to capture the essence of the conference and inspire attendees. They constantly bring new ideas to the General Session room, with innovative layouts and leading-edge seating that gives our attendees an 'aha!' moment.” Thinking about what is going to work for your audience and introducing them to a style or concept they’ve never seen before can leave a lasting impression and make your event unique. Rethink the classics and be bold to create smart, shareable events that showcase your brand and delight your audience. To learn more about CORT’s event rental collections, visit www.cortevents.com.
