Events are all about your attendee's experience and one of the easiest ways to make a lasting impression with them is through food. As the planner you want your attendees talking about everything at your event, from the keynote speaker to the decor. The end goal is to have the event really stay on their mind, whatever it may be.

So here are seven easy and creative ways to make that impression with food.

Do it Yourself Bar

These bars are great for all ages. Whether it's a DIY Bloody Mary bar for an adult brunch or a DIY Popcorn bar, it's perfect for any audience. The perk is that each attendee customizes their item, so it's exactly what they want. This leaves them satisfied.

Mini Food

Bite-sized versions of regular food are always a hit, like these bite-sized tacos. People like having something familiar but at an appropriate portion size for the event. For instance, no one wants to walk around with a full-sized bacon cheeseburger at a happy hour, so scaling it down attracts your attendees.

Interactive Food

Engage your attendees, not only in your meetings but also with your food! This tactic can be a great opportunity to get attendees posting on social media. It's exciting and fun to finish creating the food yourself.

Vegetables as a Garden

If you're looking for a creative vegetable display, then I say go with making your own garden. It's easy, cheap, and looks charming. I've been to two different places that did this display and I still talk about it.

Food Trucks

Food trucks require more work but are an exciting way to distribute food at an event. There's a process to hiring the truck which includes getting a permit. Don't stray away from this option because of that though. Food trucks are a great option for large events and people tend to enjoy them.

Play on Words

The restaurant Barton G is known for its exciting food displays that have their customers talking long after their meal. They make the name of the food related to the item it comes with. For example, below the $100 bill plate is "DOLLA DOLLA BILLS Y’ALL!!!! - MEGA RICH chocolate ganache and dulce de leche tart, under a gold brick shell. Graham cracker crust, soft meringue, chocolate –feuilletine golden nuggets". They went all out for the money theme. Use this display tactic to do the same with your attendees. If you're hosting a smaller event, go big and follow their lead with dramatic displays. If your event is on the larger scale you can do the same but on a smaller scale. Use your imagination!

Donut Wall

This is a new trend that is super low-cost, depending on what donuts you choose. You can make one of these yourself or buy one online. Then all you do is simply stick the donuts up there and let your attendees take them.
